This prestigious competition celebrates building excellence in New Zealand. It awards the best homes and builders and the craftsmanship behind them.
The Registered Master Builders House of the Year awards celebrate the very best in residential building. The competition, judged by a team of experts who visit each home at least once, is divided into two parts. The first is at regional level, with more than 360 properties taking part in 2020. They are awarded a range of quality marks and the Regional Supreme Winners (for both new builds and renovations) are announced at events around the country from July onwards. All of these houses are featured on this website and in regional magazines delivered direct to homes throughout the regions.
From those entries, up to 100 properties will reach Top 100 status and go through to a second round of judging for the national competition.
